Microsoft Pluton processor

Posted on November 19, 2020December 1, 2020 by cristian

Security at the very core is the vision behind the new chip from Microsoft, the Microsoft Pluton security processor. To understand Pluton, you have to remember that today most PCs benefit from a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), a secure cryptoprocessor that provides security services.
When TPMs are separate chips, an attacker can target the communication channel between the CPU and TPM. Pluton protects credentials, user identities, encryption keys, and personal data by building security directly into the CPU.

You can read more about it in the Microsoft announcement: Meet the Microsoft Pluton processor – The security chip designed for the future of Windows PCs
